The Great House sits impressively on the edge of the pretty black and white village of Dilwyn, seven miles from Leominster and twenty minutes from Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow.
Set amidst stunning gardens, wisteria and climbing roses cascading from the walls, guests will be bowled over by the comfort and quiet charm of this jewel in the heart of rural Herefordshire.
Inside, there is much to admire: the original flagstoned hall with its wonderful open hearth, the fine beams and panelling of the winter drawing room and the 17th Century oak staircase hung with family portraits.
The house has a reputation for warmth and hospitality. Charles II is said to have danced on the galleried landing, and to this day, guests are assured of a welcome fit for a King!
The stunning garden has been lovingly created by owners Tom and Jane Hawksley over the last 14 years and is occasionally open under the National Gardens Scheme.
A longstanding member of Wolsey Lodges, The Great House, Dilwyn, provides exceptional Bed & Breakfast accommodation with delicious home-cooked dinners by arrangement. Guests have their own elegant sitting room. Bedrooms overlook the gardens, occasionally open under the National Gardens Scheme.
